The World Bank will provide two thousand crore loan


The World Bank will provide $ 24 million for the development of coastal and marine fisheries. The amount of money in the amount of money is about 2 billion taka. This money will be spent under the sustainable marine fisheries project.

This agreement was signed on Thursday by the Economic Relations Division (ERD) and the World Bank. ERD secretary Kazi Shafiqul Azam and the acting Country Director of the World Bank's Dhaka office, Zahid Hossain signed the agreement. This program was held at the ERD conference room of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. In this, senior officials of both sides were present.

This project of 16 coastal districts will be implemented. Under this project, 100 fish villages will be built. In this, empowerment of fishermen will be done. Kazi Shafiqul Azam said that fish sector is the major driving force of the country's growth. There is a lot of potential in this sector.

It is said in the signing ceremony that, in the last decade, the annual contribution of fish sector to the economy of Bangladesh is 4 percent. After the ready made garments it is the country's second largest export sector.
