Farooq 60 bigha land is worth Tk 2.5 lakh


Akbar Hossain Pathan Faruque, the freedom fighter and veteran filmmaker who got the final nomination of Awami League from Dhaka-17 constituency, will get his election expense from the money received (Sinai Mani) signing contract for acting.

This information was received from the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission for the Eleventh Parliament election. In the affidavit, Faruq has taken 25 lakh rupees for the election, which will come from Sinai Mani.

The Dhaka-17 parliamentary constituency has been formed in a section of Gulshan, Banani, Dhaka Cantonment and Bhanatek thana. In the last election, the Awami League gave up the BNPF in the last election. In this constituency, BNF SM Abul Kalam Azad was elected MP. At the first stage, Farooq was given the primary nomination. Later, the primary nomination was given to Joint General Secretary of the Dhaka City Awami League Abdul Kader Khan. But finally, Farooq got the final party nomination in this constituency.

Faruque did not mention any income source except in acting affidavit. However, as per permanent assets, he mentioned 60 bighas of agricultural land in Kaliganj of Gazipur, which means the amount is Tk 250 lakhs. According to the affidavit, the amount deposited by his bank amounted to Tk 5,76,112. Apart from the ancestral house in Gazipur, there is a house in Baridhara of Dhaka.
