In the breeding season, sports competition has been organized among the fishermen of the Meghna River in Lakshmipur to motivate Maa Hilsha. Organized by the Department of Natural Resources Conservation and Research (CNRS), organized by the Fisheries Department, Ecofis Project. According to Laxmipur district coordinator of CNRS, Swapan Molla said that under the Ecofis project of Fisheries Department, four centers of Char Alexander union of Ramgati upazila of Lakshmipur, four in Raipur upazila and 6 fishermen in Kamlnagar have been working for more than two thousand fishermen in the life of the family. As part of this work, 66 groups of women and men in the fishermen's family are being formed to implement fish law in the river Hilsa in the Meghna River, to protect the Jatka and to protect mother's hilsa. Besides, various projects for financial and socio-economic development of fishermen are being managed.

District Fisheries Officer SM Mahibullah said that the activities of the mother's hilsa in the Meghna river have been successful in taking part in fishermen participation in various programs including sports competition. In the reproduction season (October 7 to October 28) fishermen refrained from fishing. He hopes that this year will exceed the production target of Hilsa.
