West Indies captain Jason Holder has made the world record of the best bowling averages in the history of Test cricket in over a century. He made this record on the average list of at least 30 wicket-takers in a year.
Holder, taking 33 wickets at 11.88 in 6 matches this year. As a result, the West Indies captain became the first player to score the best bowling figures in the 100 years. So far this record was kept by Pakistan's Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar took 30 wickets at an average of 12.33 in 2003.
