The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has been investigating allegations of corruption of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited. There is not much progress in relieving the search officers over and over again. However, the ACC said the investigation is going on. Due to the nature and extent of the complaint, some cases may take longer.
According to ACC sources, the organization is investigating the three major allegations of corruption of Titas officials. Among those related to the allegations are the former MD and top level officials and CBA leaders. The concerned people do not have much progress without collecting papers in the long search.
Asked about ACC's deputy director (public relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said in the first light, changes in investigations or investigation officers is a normal process. Various reasons for the commission are analyzed by the analysis of these changes. The officer may change for the purpose of inquiry or investigation. It is also due to unchanged reasons. However, there is no impact on search.
According to ACC sources, the investigation started against Titas' top Gazipur and Tongi areas in October of the year, in connection with the acquisition of illegal unauthorized wealth of millions of taka through various irregularities and corruption, taking into account the illegal connection of gas to the industries, illegal gas extraction and limitations. Deputy Director Ahmuruzzaman was in charge of the initial stage of the investigation. The deputy commissioner, who came to the deputation, went back to his organization police after promotions a few months ago. He collected basic information about the investigation in the investigation phase. Another director of the ACC, AKM Mahbubur Rahman, got the job of new search. A search team led by him was formed. Two other members of the team are deputy assistant director Saiduzzaman and Mohammad Shahjahan Miraj. After taking the responsibility of the team, the manager of the pipeline design department of Titas Pipeline Design Division Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury and Manager of Electric Cooperation Control (ECC) Division Engineer Md. Abu Bakar summoned Siddiqur Rahman for questioning in two phases. But they did not appear. In the meantime, the investigation officer changed the new Deputy Director A three-member team led by Manzur Alam was formed.
