The agreement was not signed on Sunday, the minutes of the special committee meeting for the construction of gas distribution network (pipeline) for customer financing. The special committee sat in the meeting a month ago to ensure faster gas supply in the industrial sector, according to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's directive.
There are two and a half thousand artisans allowed to build their pipes till their yard for their own financing. But Petrobangla said that the approval letter for the two members of the committee has not yet been signed.
The industrialists who suffer are saying that if they get gas, most of them will have to build pipeline up to 6 to 10 kilometers. Somebody's pipeline is even longer. Starting from now, they will take at least 3-4 months to build such a pipeline.
So, if the construction does not start now, it will take a lot of time to go to production. There will be no alternative but to shut down the industry.
At the Petrobangla office on Sunday, a CIP industrial owner of the country is talking about. He said that he could not start the factory in Shahjibazar area of Habiganj but due to lack of gas.
Two years ago the special committee approved gas connection in its factory. After getting the approval, he started working with the Petrobangla chairman after the construction of the factory. The chairman then said that with the arrival of LNG (naturalized natural gas), gas will be given to his factory.
